Guest Speakers

Emmy Kegler

Emmy Kegler is a pastor, author, and speaker called to ministry at the margins of the church, especially among LGBTQIA+ Christians. She serves as pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Northeast Minneapolis. She is also the founder and editor of the Queer Grace Encyclopedia, a curated collection of online resources around LGBTQ life and faith. Her first book, One Coin Found: How God’s Love Stretches to the Margins, tells her story as a queer Christian called to ordained ministry and how it formed her relationship with Scripture. She lives in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and enjoys biking, board games, books, and spending time with her wife Michelle and their two dogs and cat.

Aubrey Thonvold

Aubrey Thonvold (she/her) is a lifelong Lutheran who is committed to work centered in justice and equity for LGBTQIA+ people and their families within religious and faith communities. With a master’s degree in Transforming Spirituality from The School of Theology and Ministry at Seattle University, she strives to bring people in from the margins and invite all people to the table. She leads this work at ReconcilingWorks with a sense of call to this holy work. Aubrey has worked on marriage campaigns in Washington, Hawaii, and Oregon, organizing outreach, education, and advocacy and encouraging faith communities to support the freedom to marry for LGBTQIA+ couples. Aubrey and her wife Heather both have a call to ministry, a love of adventures, and enjoy time with friends and family.
